Interview newspaper Trouw

Inspired by my favorite life quote from Zora Neale Hurston (January 7, 1891 – January 28, 1960), I was interviewed about staying true to yourself, resilience, growing up and living between two worlds – Curaçao and the Netherlands, the code-switching between Papiamentu and Dutch, the cultures, values, and norms, and how I now use this as my greatest strength and wealth. “I can do it both.”
The article can be read via here: Curator Dyoñna Benett: ‘Als je niet jezelf bent, verlies je je kracht’ | Trouw
P.S. With special attention to the opening of the new exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, “Shadows on the Atlantic Ocean,” which Suze Zijlstra, myself, and many others have worked on.
The opening will take place on September 26th!
